Follow up post: Nowhere do bogans and Christmas come together more unceremoniously than on Matt Rogers’ album Rated X-Mas, which reappropriates the most popular holiday songs. Eg: “I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus” is now “I saw Mommy fucking Santa Claus”. I heard a teenaged boy playing this out loud on the train somewhere near Macquarie Fields, so go figure. Bogans think it’s pure poetry when someone can rhyme “firm” with “sperm”, and it’s all set to their favourite festive tunes. Literally, all their Christmases have CUM at once!
